Kristofer Glason was a proud recipient of the 2023 NJTL Essay Contest. He and 6 other winners spent the weekend in Charleston, SC to attend a LTP 100K Women's Tournament. See what he had to say about his experience below--
“It was my first time ever seeing a live tennis match. I didn’t know who I wanted to win. But by the second match I knew. I was rooting for Hailey Baptiste & Whitney Osuigewe. Both are amazing tennis players and better yet, they have the same skin color as me. It’s always great to watch the pro players, but even better to watch ones who are black. Overall, the experience was amazing. Everyone was kind and showed lots of hospitality. I can’t wait for next year."

During Officiating Appreciation Week, we're not just serving up aces, but also heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated officials who keep the game of tennis running smoothly. From the first serve to match point, they ensure fairness and sportsmanship, and the rules are upheld, often in the background, but always essential to the game. Let's celebrate their unwavering commitment and passion for the sport, making every match a memorable experience for players and fans alike. Here's to the umpires, linespersons, and referees who make tennis a true ace among sports! 🎾👏 #OfficiatingAppreciationWeek #TennisOfficials #ThankYou
